It was a manic five days as always, at Vapour HQ last week. Tim Mercer headed to London to spend time with Avaya at the Call & Contact Centre Expo, then featured on Europe’s only dedicated online TV channel for technology, business and entrepreneur news – Disruptive Live – whilst he was in the city. If you haven’t seen the episode yet, you can watch it in full here.
Then he was heading back up the country, to attend G.P. Bullhound’s Northern Tech 100 dinner and celebrate the fastest growing and most promising tech companies in the north of England.
As a business with a genuine interest in the innovations that are constantly taking place throughout the UK, we’re big believers in commending the brands that are breaking boundaries, challenging the norm and/or simply doing something really cool. So, Tim was in his element at the event! He also heard from speakers David Moss, David Rowan and Hugh Campbell, who reminded us why the world of tech is such an exciting place to be.
But by far the highlight of the evening for the Vapour team was learning that not only did we feature on this year’s Northern Tech 100 list – we were also in the top quarter!!
It gives us great pleasure and enormous pride to see our name in position 23. 2018 was a phenomenal year for our company, but the really exciting thing is that 2019 – running into 2020 – looks set to be even bigger!
As if the week wasn’t big enough for our cloud team, there was a final exciting announcement to round off March. We learned that Tim has also been shortlisted for Entrepreneur of the Year at another renowned event for the north – the Leeds Digital Festival! Given he didn’t even know he’d been nominated, he was absolutely delighted to learn of the news!!
The winner will be revealed at Headrow House in Leeds city centre, on Tuesday 30 April. Wish him luck!
