Vapour features in Northern Tech 100

It was a goal that CEO Tim Mercer set for the business on day one of starting out. And now, as we prepare for our sixth year in business in June, we’re delighted to say that Vapour has been recognised in GP. Bullhound’s Northern Tech 100.

The awards team contacted Tim himself last week, to confirm that Vapour is one of this year’s fastest growing technology firms in the North. He will now take a seat at one of the industry’s most highly acclaimed dinners at the Albert Hall in Manchester, on Thursday 28 March.

The invitation-only event will celebrate the successes of the 100 companies on this prestigious list, with other VIP guests including David Rowan, founding editor of Wired UK who will compere the evening, and guest speaker David Moss, co-founder of Blue Prism. The impressive line-up of judges will also be present – Ian Brown, CEO BookingGo; serial entrepreneur Sherry Coutu CBE; Richard Law, ex CEO GB Group; Jacqueline de Rojas CBE, President techUK; Mark Gracey, Head of M&A Moneysupermarket; Jason Stockwood, CEO Simply Business; and Richard Flint, CEO Sky Betting & Gaming.

With the list reflecting revenue uplift over the last three years, a number of special awards will also be presented on the night. These include Fastest Growing Company of the Year and Fastest Growing Larger Company of the Year (over £10m). Judges have also selected eight businesses from the top 50, to receive other trophies reflecting tech4good, innovation, leadership and entrepreneurialism.

Commenting on what has been an ambition for Vapour from the outset, Tim said: “When I founded Vapour, I wanted to create something different. I had bold plans from the get-go, both in terms of our proposition to the industry, and how far I wanted to take the brand. We are really only in the infancy of our journey, but recognition on this Northern Tech 100 list was one of our specific objectives. When I received that email last week, I couldn’t wait to tell our board and our staff!”
