Hot on the heels of an innovation shortlist at the Huddersfield Examiner Business Awards on 1 November, we’ve donned our black-tie outfits once again for the Halifax Courier Business Awards.
And this time – on top of another innovator commendation – we scooped the two big trophies of the night.
Our CEO Tim Mercer was crowned Business Person of the Year, and as a company we won the overall Business of the Year too – by far the pinnacle accolade of the evening.
It was a huge surprise but fantastic pleasure for our team, who enjoyed the ceremony from start to finish. We even got a special mention in the opening category, because we’d been recognised in not one but FIVE categories!
Commenting on walking away with the gongs, Vapour’s Emily Fewtrell said: “It was a real celebratory night. The crowd cheered as every shortlisted organisation was announced, which shows just what a vibrant business community there is in our region.
“We were kept in suspense as there were so many companies to praise in other categories, before it got to the awards that we won. But to hear our name called – off the back of Tim’s individual success – was an amazing end to a brilliant occasion!”
This Thursday we will learn if Vapour will have another trophy for our Elland HQ, when Tim heads to the Go:Tech Awards in Bristol to see who has been crowned Tech Entrepreneur of the Year! We all wish him – and the other shortlisted business people – lots of luck!
