Kickstarting our fundraising calendar for 2023, the Vapour team hosted its very own quiz night earlier this month, on 2 February. Dubbed a ‘networking event with a difference’, we welcomed guests from across our burgeoning tech district to Mad Frans in Leeds — raising glasses, and funds, for Military vs Cancer.
Combining online donations via JustGiving and offline contributions on the night, we’re proud to share that the efforts have taken our tally to an impressive £615. Supporting military and Ministry of Defence personnel – past and present – who are suffering the effects of cancer, this is a truly invaluable addition for our charity.
Not only was it excellent to see so many peers in attendance, it was a real pleasure to have so many local businesses supporting our endeavours too. With Gusto and Mad Frans both contributing food and drinks vouchers, and RYDE Studios throwing in three 45-minute spin class sessions into the mix, we had some excellent prizes to bolster our raffle draw.
But they weren’t the only surprises up for grabs on the night, as Vapour CEO Tim Mercer also dug deep — rewarding the winning quiz team with a £100 cash prize. Congratulations to the masterminds at Leeds-based software company, Fabl, for smashing round after round. A true force to be reckoned with!
Commenting on the success of the networking quiz night, our business development exec, Holly Eyre, said: “The first of many to come, our recent fundraiser has set an excellent precedent for 2023. A huge thank you to everyone who attended and extended their support for the cause.
