At Vapour, we’re as renowned for our people as we are our robust cloud services. That’s why we regularly put one of our colleagues in the spotlight so you can learn more about their role, their skills and even their annoying habits! Next up it’s Jason Fenwick…
Cloud infrastructure engineer
Describe your role in one sentence
Getting customers’ data into our cloud and looking after it!
If there’s one word to summarise why you got the job, what would it be?
Of Vapour’s suite of cloud services, which is your favourite?
Why Backup of course
The phone rings and it’s your dream client – describe who it would be and what help they’d need from you…
Kate Moss’s people (or more preferably Kate herself) asking if we could take care of her business’s move to the cloud.
If we were to ask your colleagues, what would they say is your worst habit?
I can be a little blunt (I believe it’s a Sagittarian trait)
And what are you more positively renowned for?
Having a great rapport with our customers.
What are your hopes for the business over the next 12 months?
That we continue on an upward curve and become a leading cloud provider.
What is the one thing you’d change about the industry?
Having previously run my own IT business for a number of years, I feel that generally business owners have a poor impression of the industry. Every man and his dog claims to be able to deliver high-end solutions whilst knowing very little about cloud and comms. Pushy sales people, poor customer service and overpriced solutions using cheap kit have given the industry a bad rep.
When Friday evening arrives and the weekend begins… where are we likely to find you?
Either with my kids, working out, or with my partner having a glass or two of vino.
What is your dream job? (other than the one you already have of course!)
