Vapour client marks one-year anniversary with investment in fully-automated failover

In the spring of 2018, Crisp, the leading provider of Social Media Safety for global brands, approached Vapour with an urgent connectivity need. Set to move into a new office in Leeds, the team needed a high-speed, resilient circuit that would enable them to maintain their precedent for the fastest, most precise detection of harmful social content.

Because we put client objectives at the heart of everything, we quickly swung into action, providing the required connectivity, and drawing upon industry knowledge and contacts to ensure the process was as swift and headache-free as possible. Wayleave difficulties were soon alleviated, and the network was installed within Crisp’s tight timeframe.

Exactly 12 months on, the circuit is now being complemented with a second backup line and failover to deliver added capacity and resilience to support Crisp’s global, 24/7 services without risk of downtime.

Commenting on the relationship, Crisp’s head of IT and infrastructure security, Daniel Hall, said: “Vapour turned around the initial install extremely quickly.This speed was crucial to us getting up and running with minimal disruption, in a building that wouldn’t otherwise have provided us with the connectivity we required”. Constrained by some of the building’s restrictions – including only one route – Vapour and Crisp have once again worked collaboratively to provide a solution.

“Their commitment to customer satisfaction is fantastic, the circuit has helped us to grow, and we’ve now invested in a second solution that will provide a fully-automated failover.”

“With this new line in place,” Daniel continued, “we have a full 500Mb connection using an alternative supplier to our primary line, delivered to a different Vapour Network POP for DC resiliency.This connection would use BT Openreach as the last mile provider. However, this is an RO2 (Resilient Option) being carried back to an alternative exchange than the existing service, and taking a different route into the building.”
