IT specialist Hollinbay switches its cloud backup to Vapour

IT support specialist Hollinbay Consultancy Services has switched to a robust backup provision from Yorkshire-based Vapour Cloud, for both the company and its client base.

Supplying IT infrastructures to SMEs throughout the region, Leeds-headquartered Hollinbay procured a new circuit from Vapour for its own offices at the start of 2017. The move from a traditional TalkTalk business line to an IP telephony system was complemented by the installation of new fibre connectivity and cloud-based backup to replace the team’s existing Microsoft environment.

The majority of Hollinbay’s backup clients have opted for the Veeam Cloud Connect solution which connects to Vapour’s data centre and provides a fully-integrated, fast and secure way to backup, replicate and restore information. Others have selected the more traditional online backup system, Acronis.

Hollinbay was so impressed with the improved cost-effectiveness of Vapour’s solutions – not to mention the enhanced disaster recovery robustness – that Hollinbay’s Technical Director, Carl Whitham, made the decision to roll the backup alternative out to clients too.

Whitham elaborates:

This presents maximum ease of access in the event of a disaster, and it is this enhanced security which prompted us to consider the value of this backup to our wider client base, especially with GDPR around the corner.”
