The channel is changing. ‘Digital transformation’ is no longer just a buzzword, and clients are now demanding cloud-first technologies within their business.

It’s been a big month for long-standing colleague James Wood – and not just because he’s shot to social media fame following our latest 60 seconds employee spotlight.
Having been with the company for six years, internal account executive ‘Jimmy’ – as he’s affectionately known – has certainly earned his stripes.
Now one of our Avaya specialists – with a phenomenal knowledge of our wider product set too – he is the epitome of a team player and has built an exceptional level of rapport with customers. He’s also a whizz around our systems, which sees colleagues constantly tapping into his skill-set as well!
So, it’s only right that, following all this hard graft, he has now been promoted to the role of account manager.
The new position will see him further develop relationships with some of our ‘lighter touch’ clients, getting out on the road to visit them and enhance the support/services we can provide, at the same time as bolstering the growth of Vapour. As he matures in the role, he will take larger clients into his portfolio too.
He is also set to become one of our most knowledgeable points of contact for all things ACO, when Avaya ramps that proposition up in the summer.
Commenting on his promotion, Vapour’s CEO Tim Mercer said: “We’re big believers in promoting from within and there’s nobody more deserving of career advancement, than Jimmy. He demonstrates a superb level of accountability and ownership over his workload – which stems from his commitment to working hard – and his personable nature mean he’s a well-liked and respected colleague across the board.
“Clichés aside, Jimmy really is an integral part of our team – we’d be lost without him.”
And it seems Jimmy can’t wait to get stuck in!
“I’m really looking forward to my new role and the opportunity to take my knowledge out to partners,” he said. “Vapour’s ethos and commitment to employees is something that is hard to find, and I’m excited to enjoying many more years as part of this family.”
So – while there can be no ignoring the worrying COVID-19 headlines at the moment – we thought we’d interrupt some of the doom and gloom with a bit of good news, and a little celebration for this hard-working lad!
